Songwriters Series #69 will feature original music performed by The Abiders "power trio": the band’s dynamic singer/songwriter, Julie Weisenhorn, on vocals and rhythm guitar; Karlos Weisenhorn icing the proverbial musical cake with his cross-harp riffs reminiscent of John Mayall, Junior Wells, and Paul Butterfield; and Scott Dee with his unique, melodic style of percussive bass guitar on Fender Precision Bass, Stingray bass and Hofner “Beatle bass”.

The Hallberg Center for the Arts, nestled in Wyoming, MN just north of the Twin Cities, is owned and operated by the Wyoming Area Creative Arts Community. In 2015, this young organization raised enough money to purchase this historic old church building with the vision of turning it into a center for the arts. It's named after it's biggest donor, the Hallberg Family Foundation. Today, the Hallberg Center for the Arts hosts new exhibits, concerts, and classes every month, bringing in artists from throughout the Midwest to share their artwork in this unique venue.

The Abiders trio of Julie, Karlos and Scott are oh-so honored and excited to be playing for a Sun Dog Farm Concert. Located in Maple Plain, MN, Sun Dog Farm is a cool little haven nestled in the rolling hills. An outdoor stage and vintage barn welcome listeners to concerts by musicians from here and abroad. There’s even a community potluck one hour before the show!

Concerts are held outside during good weather and in the cool, old barn if Mom Nature doesn’t cooperate. Bring a camp or lawn chair either way. Five BBQ vendors showcasing their specialties, live music all day (that’s where we and our buddies The Jim Stairs Band come in!), family (and dog) friendly - and all of this along the lake! The event runs, noon - 8pm.

BCB is proud to partner with America’s Gold Star Families (@americasgoldstarfamilies) as part of this Memorial Weekend event. Their organization supports families grieving a military loss across all conflicts and branches of service. Our deepest, heartfelt thanks for their service.
